Because God is an Artist

Because God is an artist.

The driving reason behind creation, and the collective pains and pleasures therein, are summed up in these five words.

Normal emotion, such as anger, hate, joy, amusement, etc. all come from biochemical reactions to stimuli, while art, music, and non-superficial beauty, like the awe-inspiring majesty of a sunset, cannot be so easily explained. They are deeper, more powerful, and far more inclusive, requiring much more of the brain's faculties to observe and appreciate. This is because it takes that much more energy and thought to embody the divine will.

God created man in his own concept, filled with the divine will and sent forth to be free-thinking and new, because it would be impossible for man to develop into the divine will otherwise. God is not fully comprehensible, and is not physical, so therefor is not affected by biochemical reactions. God is driven by a greater force: his own will, to make the universe his masterpiece,the greatest composition ever, designed, shaped, sculpted, plotted, cast, directed, and sung before us, the masterpiece itself, and just for its own sake.

That is art.

We are not perfect in form, though we may be eventually.
We are not perfect in thought, though many aspire to be.
We are perfect in our flaws,
in our failures and achievements,
with our sorrow and our joy.
It's the dark that makes the bright stand out: an artistic principle, and one our souls are shaped around.

For the sake of beauty does life exist. The complex dance of atoms, chemicals, life, planets, and so on, are the brush strokes and music notes of the greatest artist-composer ever, and he is still creating...
